It's the 1930s and recently built Fraser Highway / Yale Road connects Vancouver and the Coast to the Interior of British Columbia rejoins these two regions.

This is the first time since the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1880s that you take a horse drawn wagon or a motor vehicle without using a train between Hope and Ashcroft. And as a part of the construction concrete mileposts lined the highway from Vancouver to at least Hope.

This milepost shows some traces of the original yellow paint that each post had.
