Anson County has quite a remarkable water system for a county system. They use deep well sources and draw from the Great Pee Dee River. The river actually the county line separating Anson from Richmond and Montgomery Counties.

Across the county there are many water towers that store water for home and commercial use. With an abundant water supply, Anson county is the home to a wide variety of industry and business interest. In addition to the county system, some municipalities use their own distribution system but purchase water as needed from the county system.
