Nearby is a county water tower for the county water system. In addition to the county system, some municipalities use their own distribution system but purchase water as needed from the county system. This abundant water supply has made Wadesboro attractive to manufacturing companies. Unfortunately, the textile industry there has left the area for more lucrative cheap labor resources in Central American and the Far East.
