Built of buff and brown brick, this is a typical small town post office of the 60s or 70s. Heatherton itself is a very small community with a post office, an unmarked fire hall, a church, a cemetery, a community hall, a school, a few houses, and that's about it. The community is just south off the Trans Canada Highway (Highway 104) about 15 kilometres east of Antigonish.
Post Office Type: Rural

Province/Territory: Nova Scotia

Historical Significance: No - Modern building

Location has a philatelic display: no

What brought you here?:
Stopped in while motoring down 104 as we had noticed the old wood frame church, Immaculate Conception, from the highway. It's just east a block or so from the post office.
