Grand-Barachois, also known as Beaubassin East, is a coastal town on the north coast of New Brunswick, about midway between Shediac, to the west, and Shemogue, to the east. This is an old fishing town, in the heart of Acadian country, which was settled three centuries ago. Now much renovated and upgraded, the post office building is of a style which suggests that it could have been built in the mid nineteenth century, possibly even earlier.
