As the plaque reads:

Greenwater Ranger Station

This is the site of the original Greenwater ranger station established in 1914 under the federal Forestry Branch, Department of the Interior, Canada. The station was operated until 1948 and then moved to the beach area.

Portions of the original foundation from the house and barn remain on this site.

Staff were called Rangers under the Dominion Field Officers under the Province after the transfer of lands in 1930.

Some of the Rangers that worked here 1914-1930 were Seymour Annette, Philip Reld, WR Murray, Field Officers working here during the period 1930-1948 included Ernest Sharman, Charles Abra, Cliff Schell and Horace Abra.

This township (41-11-W2) was designated as Greenwater Provincial Park in February 1932. Adjacent lands have been added to the park since that date.
