You can drive to the top of this overlook and veiw this Hillside Letter or hike up one of the many trails that can be found around the base of the Butte. Free parking is available on the north side of the butte if you want the hike. The "Oregon O" was originally green but has now been tranformed into yellow. Occasionally the color is Beaver Believer orange and black or Husky purple as a result of college rivaly hijinx. The "O" was visible at one time from all of downtown Eugene but the trees planted here as a CCC project in the 1930's have now obscured it from view.
