A monument honoring the accomplishments of William T. G. Morton consists of a circular bas relief sculpture of the Charlton native and an explanatory plaque attached to the front of a granite base. The sculpture was created by T.J. and Florence McAuliffe and dedicated on September 1, 1921.

On the relief is inscribed MORTON
