The Column of St. Mark (winged lion symbolizes Venice and also its patron saint, St. Mark) was erected in 2001. This 9 meters tall column is a gift from the Giunta Regionale del Veneto (Government of Veneto) to the city of Buenos Aires in recognition of the unbreakable bond that links Venice and Buenos Aires.
