At the corner of Martin Street and Nanaimo Avenue is the Lougheed Building where the Veteran Affairs office is located. Attached to the building is the plaque honoring the Penticton Regiment.

A lot has changed since 1914 when the Penticton Regiment assembled at this corner of Martin Street and Nanaimo Avenue. We honor those brave men who gathered here preparing for the war ahead.
Transcription of plaque:
In August, 1914, the First Volunteers of Penticton assembled at the corner of Martin St. and Nanaimo Ave. The Regiment served with distinction on the battlefield throughout WW1. Notable actions in which the Regiment was involved included Vimy, Vpres, Amiens and the Battle of the Somme.
On this, the 80th Anniversary of Armistice Day, 1918, Veterans Affairs Canada is proud to recognise the Historical Significance of this location and the accomplishments of the Penticton Regiment.
