St Alban's Church was built in the Victorian Romanesque style in 1889, however the foudation stone is for the 1898 extension. Prior to the church being constructed services were held in the open air,The building was to seat 150 people and cost £280($560),it also had a place for a choir and organ, as well as a vestry. Stained glass, which had been imported for St Georges Cathedral but not required, was used for several of the windows.
