The Soap Creek Schoolhouse stands as a remembrance of the time when one-room schoolhouses provided much of the education for rural Americans. This present schoolhouse is the third one constructed at this location.

It sets on a grassy hillside in picturesque Soap Creek Valley, 8 miles north of Corvallis, it is one of the most visible symbols of early twentieth-century life in rural Benton County and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This schoolhouse was used through the end of the school year in 1946. In 1942 there were only six students.
