The Town Hall was erected as the Corn Exchange in 1855, but the clock was donated by Mr Farnham from Quorn in 1879. The faces are deliberately angled so that it can be seen from both ends of the town. At the very top is the bell. Today the Town Hall is an art gallery and theatre, with a small café upstairs, as well as housing the Mayor's Parlour.
The clock face is white with black roman numerals. The minute and hour hands are black, with a small gilded strip for highlighting.
