Bargoed Train Station is approximately half distance on the 33 mile Rhymney to Cardiff railway line. The station serves my home Town of Bargoed, also Aberbargoed. The tracks follows the Rhymney Valley & River South to Cardiff Capitol of Wales.

The Southbound train from Rhymney crosses the Viaduct just before it arrives at Bargoed Station, and then departs the Station towards Cardiff through the tunnel under the new Road bridges, that can be seen in the station photos.
There are approx 20-30 trains daily using the Rhymney to Cardiff local line, and stopping at Bargoed railway station.
The Railway Station is a small Welsh town Train Station, just down the track, around the bend from, Bargoed Viaduct Bridge that crosses the Rhymney Valley.
"Bargoed railway station serves the town of Bargoed in the county borough of Caerphilly, South Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney branch of the Valley Lines network. The station, which is the northernmost on the double-track section of the branch, has recently seen the reinstatement of a second platform (although it did at one time have three.
The station was opened on 31 March 1858 by the Rhymney Railway and was once a busy junction, serving lines to Newport (via Bedwas) and Brecon as well as the current route, but the latter pair of lines were both closed to passengers in December 1962.
