"Kolem roku 1756 byl starší dum prestaven na palác ve stylu vrcholného baroka, jehož autorem je patrne Anselmo Martin Lurago nebo František Ignác Prée. Zadavatelem prestavby byl Kryštof Cavriani a poté hrabe J. Caretto-Millesimo.

Z období baroka zbyly nekolikery dvere a parketové podlahy v patre paláce, a velmi bohate štukované stropy.

V 19. století se v paláci provozovalo šlechtické kasino a luxusní restaurant. Od roku 1990 prostory paláce využívá Univerzita Karlova."
