The chateau was built on the site of an older fortness ravaged during the Thirty Years War by Michna of Vacínov. In 1685 left the court Schwarzenberg to rebuild it in the baroque style. Despite a number of adjustments, it maintain the character of the baroque manor building from the late 17th century.
