In Blue Hill, on top of Blue Hill, is a scenic view of the Maine coastline, which includes a view of Mt. Desert Island.

To get to the summit, from the center of Blue Hill, go north on Maine Route 15 to Mountain Road, take a right, then go on Mountain Road to either parking lot on the right side. Follows posted signs and walk on one of the trails to the top. We parked at the Morse Farm at Blue Hill entrance and went up the Hayes Trail. The terrain is moderate, with uneven footing at times.

On the southeast side of the hill is a bare ledge open to the southwest. This view provides a view of Western Bay. The peaks in the distances are the hills on Mt. Desert Island, including Mt. Cadillac. These hills are within Acadia National Park. Also in that direction is the open field of the county fairgrounds. Also in view is the town of Blue Hill.

At the ledge is a communications tower.
