In Blue Hill, off Mountain Road, is combined public and trust land with this sign showing the trails around Blue Hill.
Blue Hill is located north of the center of the town of Blue Hill. From the center, take Route 15 and travel north to Mountain Road, take a right and go to the second parking lot for the Morse Farm at Blue Hill parking lot on the right. Cross the street - there should be a sign at the road saying Morse Farm at Blue Hill. Walk in the field and orchard toward the hill and the sign at the field edge.
The sign is for the trail system around the hill. Ahead is Hayes Trail, which starts with placed flat stones for walking - later the stones are uneven and loose. The placement of this location is marked with a red dot and the words, "You Are Here."
At the summit, you have a view of coastal Maine, including the bays surrounding Mt. Desert Island.
