Koksin stronghold was affiliated at the end of the 15th century as a part of Svihov (
visit link) defence system. It used to serve as a warning post and the keep of the sluice-gate, which enabled the meadows around Svihov to be flooded. In the southern part of the site there is a platform, which may have been used for agricultural purposes. This may indicate that the stronghold was home to some of the lesser nobility, but if correct it can only have been for a short time, since it was deserted by the 16th century. So far no archaeological excavation has been undertaken on the site to illuminate its historical development.
