This piece of art in Downtown Abbotsford is part of the Bench Art Project - Downtown Revitalization work done to attract more people / customers to the 'old' Downtown Abbotsford stores through a display of various cultural artworks outside on the local streets.

This is a treasured replica of a 1940 or 50's truck, complete with real truck parts and a big goose as a driver - a tribute to one of Abbotsford's most industrious pioneering families, the Goslings.

The Gosling's family has a long history in Abbotsford and Alfred Randell Gosling and his wife Elsie Yelland moved into the modest two storey home on Montrose Avenue in the 1920's that in the early 1950's was converted to a large store selling a large variety of housewares and appliances etc. That business closed in 1998 and part of the space is now occupied by "Mad Dogs Source for Sports" store.
Artist: Artist appears to be unknown.

Date Placed: Not listed but after 1998.

Materials Used:
