The small Chapel of Our Dam Lady, former Hermitage of San Caetano, owes its present name to the proximity, a few meters from a datable dam Roman occupation of Auburn Village, which was also a bridge in the town where he spent way linking the Beja Évora. The chapel and the dam, now reduced to the remains of a wall, stand near the junction between the roads of Cuba, Vila Alva and Vila Ruiva, about 2 km from the town. It is a complex formed by the little church and some nearby houses, intended for hermits and pilgrims, who at one point flocked in large numbers to the temple.

São Caetano The chapel was an important regional center of pilgrimage because of the fame of the miracles attributed to the intercession of his original patron, whose image has come to be considered in the eighteenth century, as the most miraculous of all the kingdom. Over time, this devotion was gradually replaced by the cult of Our Lady of the dam.
