Homestake Mining Co. compressed air locomotive No. 35 was built by H. K. Porter, Inc. in the early 1900's. It was the last compressed air locomotive built for the Homestake Mining Company
The giant rivets are the tell that this is a compressed air locomotive not a steam unit. No one was ever injured from these units exploding from the extreme pressure that was stored.
