"The $1.6 million renovations will convert most of the first floor to office and meeting space for the Town of Ithaca, and remodel almost 5,000 square feet at the south end of the building for a new Post Office. The Town Hall and the Post Office are separate projects...The plans preserve much that is old. The original lobby will serve as the main entrance to the Town Hall. A new meeting chamber and 6,500 square feet of office space are being built. Wheelchair access is going to be built on the Buffalo Street entrance. The old loading dock will be enclosed and a new entrance will be built in back."

"The program called for restoration of the interior lobby to its original splendor, renovations for functions of the Town Court, and an addition spanning the rear of the building to house Town Hall office functions. Exterior renovations include handicap accessibility to meet ADA requirements, restoration of the exterior stone and brick façade and roof replacement."
