Margaret "Maggie" Jane was born on 19 January 1875 to Judd I. and Nancy Lamkin Green. On 24 October 1897 she married Mac Orville Estes (1875-1945) at her parent's home just north of Newtonia. It's interesting to note that they celebrated their wedding by going up to the small town of Ritchey to catch the evening train for a short tour. How times have changed!

They remained married until Mac's passing at the end of World War II, having been married for 48 years. Both Mac and Maggie were about 70 when Mac passed on. Maggie continued on for nearly 32 years more, passing away on 28 February 1977, having attained 102 years the month before.
