Grace was born on 27 July 1909 near Stark City. She graduated from Southern Missouri State (now Missouri State University). She was a teacher for many years, including teaching in Neosho. She was a member of the Newtonia Methodist Church. Her first husband was Jim J. Harris (1908-1980). She remarried to Jay Andrew Harrison, one year her junior, who died in 1998 and is buried with his first wife Helen (1911-1982). Grace died on 5 January 2010, well over 100 years old, and is buried with her first husband Jim.
