A blue plaque on the site of Babington Hall, town house of the conspirator Anthony Babington (24 October 1561 – 20 September 1586) (visit link) , convicted of plotting the assassination of Elizabeth I of England and conspiring with the imprisoned Mary, Queen of Scots.
The building has long since been pulled down, and on that site in the middle of Derby is a NatWest bank.
Apparently Mary Queen of Scots lodged at the halls overnight on January 13 1585 on her road to Titbury.
