This building constructed in 1884 was the First Congregational Church. The building was purchased by the Union Methodist Church about 1914. The Union Methodist moved from the building about 1952 upon their merger with the Christ Methodist Church and relocated to the west. The building was converted to the 467-seat Grandel Theatre in 1992 and serves as the home for the St. Louis Black Repertory Company.
