EN: This traditional wooden barn is located in the fields east of Bennwil. The building was built in traditional post and beam construction, according to a dendrochronological analysis shortly after 1731.

The steep roof with the open gable was originally thatched. Almost all structural elements of the barn are still in their original state.

This construction type was widespread for centuries. With the abandonment of traditional three-field crop rotation these barns were barely used anymore and only very few of them are still standing.

The barn has been recently restored under the supervision of the cantonal monument preservation department and serves as a goat pen today.

Construction: Wood
