In Bucksport, within the Ft. Knox State Park and Observatory, is the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, with an observatory at the top of the west tower, with orientation signs like this one for the north view.

The bridge is a cable-stayed suspension bridge crossing the Penobscot River. The base is within parkland. To get to the observatory, you must enter the park at the entrance about a half mile north of the bridge tower. There is an extra fee to enter the observatory. From the entrance, there is a road loop around the tower.

The tower has an elevator that you can ride up to the top. There are people there present to regulate the number of people on the observation deck at a time, so, at times, there could be a wait.

There are several orientation tables, one for each of the four directions. The one featured is for a view roughly in the north direction. You can see Ft. Knox on the western shore in the foreground and the center of Bucksport across the river. There is an old paper mill to the left that we learned that night was scheduled for demolition. There are several low hills in the background.
