There is a seal for the Town of Ashland, April 25, 1867, in the stone part of the wall. There is a bell by the town hall in a covered stand. There are flagpoles and a memorial in the cement by the flagpole to Milton B. Sydney in appreciation for his years of service.
The glass door has the message, "Sorry We're close" probably on a shade pulled down.
"The Town of Ashland is located in Chemung County, New York, with a population about 1,700. The town was named after the home of Henry Clay, and is located on the south border of the county, south of Elmira, New York. "
