The memorial consists of a copper statue of a life-size World War I doughboy who appears to be climbing up a hill with his right foot forward. He holds his bayoneted rifle horizontally in both hands with the butt of the rifle against his right side. The sculpture is mounted atop a rectangular stone plinth.
