Stewartsville Fire Department is one of the oldest of the "new" county departments initiated in the early 80's.

The location of its first station was a few miles NE od the present location. It was housed in a founder's garage. Later the department built a small garage to house the truck on property that the present station sits. The department is lucky to have a very supporting district that turns out in good numbers for fund raisers. They have 1 engine, 1 tanker, 1 equipment/service truck, and 1 quick response brush truck.
