Charles M. Chapman was born to John Hamilton Chapman (1842-1938) and Harriet Coddington Chapman on 9 November 1876 in Anderson. He married Julia Ann Dobbs in Anderson on 31 January 1904. They had 3 children.

Julia passed away at 74 years old, and Charles continued on for another 30 years, passing away on 23 April 1983, well over 106 years old. Of the six centenarians buried at this cemetery at the time of this waymark posting, three were members of the Chapman family.
