Zvonice se staly na malých obcích významnou duchovní a spolecenskou dominantou obce. První zvonice celodrevená na dvou sloupech s prístreškem stávala pred domem c. p. 37 v ulici „Dedina“. Do ní byl zavešen v roce 1727 zvon o hmotnosti 31,5 kg. Roku 1828 byla postavena zvonice zdená (ríkalo se jí též kaple) na návsi na obecním pozemku. Starý zvon z drevené zvonice byl prevešen do zdené kaple. Roku 1863 a 1888 provedena výmen strechy a báne kríže ke cti a chvále Boží našeho ceskoslovenského patrona sv. Jana z Nepomuku. Roku 1897 se na starém zvonu objevila trhlina, proto byl porízen zvon nový o hmotnosti 63 kg. Roku 1942 byl tento zvon svešen z úredního narízení a odevzdán pro válecné úcely. Roku 1943 již zavešen zvon nový. Roku 1943 provedena výmena vazby a krytiny na kapli. Pri této výmene byly ve špici strechy v bánce pod krížem objeveny dve staré listiny dokládající historické události týkající se kaple. V roce 1966 byl upraven vnitrek kaple. Do muzea ve Šlapanicích byly predány obraz sv. Jana Nepomuckého od neznámého lidového malíre, visící zde od nepameti, soška Panny Marie s detátkem a kríž na nošení v cele pruvodu. Ostatní obrázky pro bezcennost a sešlost vyrazeny. V celní stene byl vytesán výklenek a postavena do neho socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého, která predtím byla v kostele ve Šlapanicích. Nad vchodem bylo obnoveno a ve dverích prorezáno okno a kaple byla vymalována. Roku 1967 byla položena uvnitr nová kamenná dlažba místo staré cihlové. Dríve zvoníval obecní sluha, pastýr a ponocný v jedné osobe. Poslední touto osobností byl Václav Konecný (do roku 1951). Po nem se ve zvonení strídali ruzní obcané Ponetovic. V roce 1971 bylo instalováno v kapli automatické elektrické zvonení. Hodiny – pendlovky jako soucást zarízení daroval Jan Coupek z c. p. 13. V roce 1975 byly pendlovky pres rozbitou sklenenou výpln ve dverích odcizeny. Do kaple byl umísten casový elektrický spínac. Zvonilo se jen v poledne a vecer. Roku 1980 vypovedel službu.
Politický zvrat v posledních mesících roku 1989 nastartoval v celé Ceskoslovenské republice všestranné uvolnení duševních, politických, tvurcích, podnikatelských i náboženských aktiv. Obcané Ponetovic se rozhodli po 14 letech vystoupit ze svazku s MNV Šlapanice. Ve volbách v listopadu a prosinci 1990 zvolili patnácticlenné obecní zastupitelstvo se starostou Emilem Krížem. V té dobe byla v Ponetovicích aktivní politická strana KDU-CSL, která na své výborové schuzi zacátkem roku 1992 iniciovala návrh na stavbu kaple s prístavbou ke stávající zvonicce. Návrh byl na verejném zasedání obecního zastupitelstva dne 26. brezna 1992 prijat všemi hlasy k realizaci. Obetaví clenové KDU-CSL zajistili projektovou dokumentaci a zahájili jednání na stavebním úrade o územním a stavebním rízení. Následne úkol prevzala obec Ponetovice a vypsala verejnou soutež na zpracování projektu na stavbu kaple v Ponetovicích. Bylo prijato pet projektu. Pro stavbu byl vybrán projekt pana ing. Aleše Langa z Prahy. Obec ovšem nebyla na tento úkol financne dostatecne pripravena, proto byla 25. cervence 1994 založena Nadace. Dne 31. ríjna 1994 vydal Stavební úrad Šlapanice rozhodnutí o stavebním povolení. Stavebního dozoru se ujal pan Josef Danek, diplomovaný stavební technik z Blažovic.
Nastala fáze intenzivního zajištování materiálových a financních zdroju nutných pro zahájení stavby. Stavba byla zahájena dne 10. cervna 1995 za vedení pana Jana Fišera z c. p. 110. Po nezbytných terénních úpravách, kácení kaštanu a sušáku na hadice byly zahájeny výkopové práce na základech stavby. Byl odkryt hromadný hrob, který zástupci Archeologického ústavu v Brne odhadli na 16. století. Byl zachován a nachází se v prostoru pod oltárem. Základy stavby byly v roce 1995 zdárne ukonceny a v následujícím roce 1996 se zahájila generální oprava stávající zvonice. Byla stržena vadná strecha, otlucena omítka vne i uvnitr zvonice. Potrebné lešení bylo zapujceno z fary ve Šlapanicích. Bylo preloženo vedení elektriky a obecního rozhlasu. V rámci „Obnovy venkova“ se podarilo ve spolupráci s Okresním úradem Brno-venkov získat dotaci pro roky 1997, 1998 i 1999. Nastalo rychlé budování vcetne výberového rízení na dodavatele stavby. Ze trí prihlášených firem byla vybrána firma Stavkom Brno, spol. s r. o., která predložila cenove nejnižší nabídku. Na stavbe se podílely též další firmy a hlavne brigádnické práce obetavé skupiny obcanu. Náklady stavby byly hrazeny témer z 50% ze státní dotace a z 50 % z nadace. Kolaudacní rízení probehlo dne 3. prosince 1999, rozhodnutí o užívání stavby vydáno dne 3. února 2000 stavebním úradem Šlapanice.
Soucástí kaple je bývalá zvonice, k níž je kaple pristavena. Prístavbu tvorí jednopodlažní stavba rotundového tvaru, ve které je malý kur prístupný z vnitrní cásti modlitebny. Zvonice je zastrešena jehlanovou ctyrbokou strechou. Pruchod mezi zvonicí a modlitebnou je oddelen ozdobnou kovanou mríží. Mríž zhotovil dle vlastního návrhu pan Vladimír Kuklínek z Blažovic. Na mríži je znázornen Duch svatý pod podobou holubice. Ve stene rotundy se nachází tri obdélníková okna, ve kterých jsou umísteny vitráže, které navrhl výtvarník, místní rodák Vít Ondrácek. Vitráže jsou provedeny z litého olovnatého skla. Strop rotundy je rešen kuželovou strechou bez lucerny, který slouží nejen pro prístup svetla, ale také jako vetrání. Strecha zvonice i rotundy jsou kryty „kanadským šindelem“.
Dárci a príznivci naší stavby jsou nejen obcané Ponetovic a blízkého okolí, ale také z dalších mest. Velkou zásluhu na zbudování kaple mají též kneží, kterí se na správe farního úradu podíleli po celou dobu výstavby a nemalou cástkou prispeli. Byli to pan farár Josef Brtník, kaplan Dan Žurek, farár Bohuslav Richter, kaplan Milan Mihulec a pan farár Miroslav Šudoma s kaplany Pavlem Kopeckem a Janem Hábou. Podekování patrí i Okresnímu úradu Brno-venkov – referátu regionálního rozvoje za vstrícný prístup k realizaci akce. Samotný dík paní architektce ing. Vojtové za technickou pomoc. A v neposlední rade patrí dík i komisi z brnenského biskupství v cele s generálním vikárem Mikuláškem za pomoc pri príprave vysvecení kaple.
Kaple byla vysvecena 8. kvetna 2000 modrickým dekanem P. Karlem Pavlíckem za úcasti 600 verících a kneží - P. Miroslav Šudoma, farár ze Šlapanic, P. Jan Hába, kaplan ze Šlapanic, P. Václav Fišer, dekan z Hustopece, P. František Doležal, kaplan z Telnice, P. Josef Brtník, farár z Brna – Žabovresk.
Mše svatá je v kapli sloužena každý první ctvrtek v mesíci a nebo pri mimorádných príležitostech. V nedeli bývají modlitební hodiny, v kvetnu bývají májové pobožnosti. Provoz kaple zajištuje tríclenný výbor ve složení: Jan Fišer c. p. 110, Vojtech Buchta c. p. 17, Marie Chlupová c. p. 103.
S pomocí Boží vyrostla na návsi v Ponetovicích nová dominanta, která se stává ozdobou i kulturním stánkem.

Belfry became small villages to major social and spiritual landmark of the village. The first all-wooden belfry on two columns with shelter stood in front of house no. P. 37 in the street, "Dedina." The political reversal in the last months of 1989 kicked off across Czechoslovakia versatile release mental, political, creative, entrepreneurial and religious assets. Citizens Ponetovice decided after 14 years to withdraw from the union with MNV Šlapanice. In elections in November and December 1990 they elected fifteen municipal council by the mayor Emil crisis. At that time, the Ponetovice active political party KDU-CSL, which his committee's meeting in early 1992 initiated a proposal for the construction of a chapel with an extension to the existing Zvonicce. The proposal was at a public meeting of the municipal council of 26 March 1992 adopted unanimously for implementation. Selfless members of the KDU-CSL ensure project documentation and to start negotiations on the office building of planning and construction management. Subsequently, the municipality took over the task Ponetovice and announced a public competition for a project to build a chapel in Ponetovice. Five projects were adopted. For the construction of the project was selected by Mr. Ing. Ales Lang from Prague. The village, however, was not up to the task adequately prepared financially, so was July 25, 1994 founded the Foundation. On 31 October 1994 the Building Authority Šlapanice decision on the building permit. Construction supervision took Josef Danek, graduate civil engineer from Blažovice.
There was an intense phase of the provision of material and financial resources needed to begin construction. Construction was started on 10 June 1995 under the management of Mr. Jan Fiser no. P. 110. After the necessary landscaping, felling chestnuts and dryer hose was started excavation work on the foundations of buildings. A mass grave was uncovered that the representatives of the Archaeological Institute in Brno estimated to 16th century. It has been maintained and is located in an area under the altar. The building's foundations were successfully completed in 1995 and the following year launched the 1996 overhaul of the existing bell tower. Defective roof was torn, chipped plaster inside and outside the bell tower. The necessary scaffolding was borrowed from the rectory in Šlapanice. Electricity was translated leadership and community radio. Under the "Rural Renewal" managed in cooperation with the District Office of Brno-country to get a grant for the years 1997, 1998 and 1999. There was a rapid build, including a tender for the contractor. Of the three firms registered firm was selected STAVKOM Brno, spol. Ltd., which submitted the lowest priced bid. On site also participated in other companies and mainly temporary work group of dedicated citizens. Construction costs were paid almost 50% of state subsidies and 50% from the foundation. Approval procedure took place on December 3, 1999, decision of building use issued on February 3, 2000 the building authority Šlapanice.
Part of the chapel is a former bell tower, to which the chapel is built. Extension consists of a single-storey building rotundového shape, which is a small gallery accessible from inside the prayer hall. The bell tower is roofed with a pyramidal tetrahedral roof. Passage between the bell tower and the chapel is separated by a decorative wrought grille. Lattice made according to your design by Mr. Vladimir Kuklínek of Blažovice. On the lattice is shown under the Holy Spirit as a dove. In the wall of the rotunda are three rectangular windows, which are located stained glass windows, designed by an artist, a native Vít Ondrácek. Stained glass windows are made of cast leaded glass. The ceiling of the rotunda is designed conical roof without lanterns, which serves not only to access the lights, but also as ventilation. The roof of the bell tower and rotunda are covered with "Canadian shingles."
Donors and supporters of our buildings are not only citizens Ponetovice and surrounding areas, but also from other cities. Much credit for the construction of the chapel are also priests who in the administration of the parish office participated throughout the construction period and a considerable amount contributed. It was the parson Josef Brtník, Chaplain Dan Zurek, pastor Bohuslav Richter, Milan Mihulec chaplain and vicar Miroslav Šudoma with chaplains and John Paul Kopeckem Hába. The chapel was consecrated on May 8, 2000 modrickým dean Charles P. Pavlicek attended by 600 believers and priests - Miroslav P. Šudoma, pastor of Šlapanic, John P. Hába, chaplain of Šlapanic, P. Vaclav Fiser, dean of Hustopece, P. Francis Dolezal, chaplain of Telnice, P. Joseph Brtník, rector of Brno - Žabovresky.
Mass is celebrated in the chapel every first Thursday of the month or on special occasions. Sunday hours are prayer, usually in May devotions. Operation chapel provides a three-member committee composed of: Jan Fiser no. P. 110, Vojtech Buchta no. P. 17, Marie Chlupová no.. 103rd
