Alberni Valley Regional Airport is a regional airport located approximately 12 kilometres northwest of Port Alberni. The only scheduled service is provided by KD Air to Texada/Gillies Bay Airport (YGB) on Texada Island and Qualicum Beach Airport (XQU), with two daily flights to each airport.

The airport is home to a number of clubs, including the Alberni Valley Flying Club, the Vancouver Island Soaring Centre, and the Alberni Valley Soaring Association. With a significant forestry industry in the area, the airport is also home to Coulson Aircrane, which has both its headquarters and overhaul facilities for its heli-logging fleet at the airport. The airport also acts as base camp for a BC provincial forest fire suppression crew during the fire season.

The airport has one runway, 12/30, which is 3952 feet long and 75 feet wide. An expansion is planned that would increase the runway to 5000 feet long and 100 feet wide and improve the lighting system.
