Casa Terrades or Casa de les Punxes (House of Spikes)is one of the more interesting buildings in the fashionable Eixample district of Barcelona. Designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and built in in 1905, the castle like building features conical towers topped with spikes. One distinctive feature between the towers is the large polychrome tile sundial. This dial declines slightly to the east and has hour lines from 5 am to 4 pm. Declination lines are shown with three zodiac symbols. The noon line is an analemma showing the equation of time.
Sundial Type: Vertical - Wall mounted dial plate
