Z historie hasicu
Vydáním požárního zákona pro Moravu v.r.1873 bylo doporuceno všem obcím, které mely více jak sto domovních císel zrizovat dobrovolné hasicské sbory.
Ve Starovicích byl založen nemecký sbor dobrovolných hasicu již v roce 1883, jako jeden z prvních hasicských sboru na bývalém hustopecském okrese. Ve znaku meli "FFFF" Frisch, Frei, From, Frohlich, preloženo: sveží, volný, zbožný, veselý.
Ve vesnici postavili menší požární skladište s dominantní zdenou ctyrhranou veží na sušení hadic a pri ní spolkovou místnost.
Obec zakoupila za 400 zlatých rucní pojízdnou stríkacku na záprah koní a na výstroj darovala dalších 200 zl., Další financní dary získali hasici od: císare Františka Josefa ve výši 60 zl., Moravskoslezské pojištovny 40 zl., od Dolnorakouské pojištovny Donau 15 zl. (viz kronika obce z r.1929.
V letech 1935 – 1940 postavili na horním konci vesnice takzvanou turnhalu se znakem ctyr FFFF ve štíte. Stríkacka a výzbroj byly válecnými událostmi zniceny nebo rozebrány. Turnhala byla v roce 1946 pridelena telovýchovné jednote sokol.
Po roce 1945 zacalo osidlování Starovic ceským obyvatelstvem z okolních vesnic. Další rok 1946 byl založen Sbor dobrovolných hasicu, který cítal 19 zakládajících clenu. Prvním velitelem byl Válka František. Po nem následoval Višnovský Julius.
Sbírkou mezi obcany a príspevkem MNV porídili novou motorovou stríkacku, pracovní a slavnostní stejnokroje. Stríkacku uvedli do provozu slavnostním svecením. Kmotrou byla Františka Frolichová c.p.120. Sbor byl z pocátku velmi aktivní, zajištoval nejen ochranu proti požárum v obci, ale podílel se i na kulturní cinnosti v obci.
Pocátecní aktivita postupne slábla a behem dalších let se stával sbor neaktivní.
Zákonem c. 62/1950 a zákonem 35/1953 byla odpovednost za technickou a výkonovou stránku prenesena na národní výbory. Došlo i ke zmene názvu na Ceskoslovenský svaz požární ochrany.
Až do roku 1977 hasici pouze vyjíždeli k požárum a nevyvíjeli žádnou jinou cinnost. V roce 1977 byl zvolen novým predsedou Jan Anšlág a velitelem František Beier, který se po Pavlu Novákovi zacal aktivne venovat mládeži. Byla vytvorena mládežnická družstva požárníku, která se seznamovala s hasicskou technikou a každorocne porádala celookresní soutež „Plamen“.
V léte 1978 se zacala opravovat zchátralá hasicka v akci „Z“požární zbrojnice a její oprava pokracovala až do roku 1983. Práce byly provádeny brigádnicky místní organizací.
V roce 1983 bylo vzpomenuto 100 let trvání hasicu v obci.
Požární zbrojnice byla dobre vybavena. Mela tri motorové stríkacky ruzných výkonu PP S8, PP S 12, PP S 16, protipožární auto Praga V3S.
V tomto období byli hasici velice aktivní. Organizace mela kolem 50 clenu a mimo odborného výcviku mládeže porádali každorocne i kulturní a spolecenské akce a zábavy.
Aktivita, kterou oživili Jan Anšlág a František Beier postupne ochabovala a po jejich odchodu z organizace cinnost zanikla. Dnešní cinnost spocívá pouze v hasicských výjezdech k požárum. Nutno pripomenout velkou pomoc našich hasicu pri povodních v roce 2006 v obci Uhercice, za kterou dostali pochvalu od tehdejšího ministra vnitra Františka Bublana.

In 1983 it was remembering 100 years of firefighters in the village.
