The plaque tells us about the area:

Here blossomed a physic garden for
medicinal herbs tended by Cluniac
Monks from Southover Priory.

Hereabouts, too, the Winterbourne
stream powered their
eastern watermill.

The priory ruins stand about 350 metres to the south of the plaque.
