The Santa Fe Trail was used by wagons carrying good from Missouri to Santa Fe and back. This route was the main highway for those that settled in the southwest states, beginning in the late 1700's.

The Marker reads "Santa Fe Trail, 1822-1878, Marked by the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Territory of New Mexico, 1910"
