Located on the north side of the Memorial Union Building and left of the entrance is a date stone of 1927. The Memorial Union Building was erected as a memorial for those Oregon State students (then known as Oregon Agricultural College) who fought in the Spanish American War and World War I. The building was officially dedicated in 1928.
