První písmenou zmínku o Pozoricích nacházíme v papežské listine z 1. kvetna 1318. Týká se puvodního majitele pozorického panství Púty z Pozoric, který sídlil na nedalekém hrade Vildenberku (dovede vás tam modrá turistická znacka). Pozorice byly již od dávných dob správním centrem, mestys s právem tržním a hrdelním. Byl zde feudální dvur, soustredení remesel a obchodu, pivovar, sídlo farnosti a školy.
