This church is 5.5 miles east of Nowata, Oklahoma in Nowata County, right along US-60. The doorway of the church is boarded up, and someone has written some graffiti on the boards. A fence and gate may have been meant to keep anyone from getting near the church, but at this point it only serves to keep vehicles from approaching too near, since a person can simply walk around the fence on either the US-60 side or the other side. However, I would not suggest that you walk very far in the weeds, especially during thick foliage seasons.
An extensive web search for this church turned up nothing but the jillion "locator-type" web pages that want to tell you where the church is located (duh!), what the weather is like there, and where the nearest lodging is located. No history. Perhaps it fell into disuse before the Internet was in common use; or perhaps if there was any information it was taken down. Which leaves us with a lot of questions: What denomination (if any) was represented? When was it built? How many members did it have at its height? When did it close down? I wish I knew!
