The Fleetwood Mosaics and Ceramic Mural strectches some 170 feet along the north wall of the parking lot for the Fleetwood Community Centre and library complex. Tucked about midway is a tile giving a summary timeline for two streets in the area - 168th Street and Fraser Highway. Each has a different timeline being offered.
For 168th Street, originally known as Coast Meridian Road, the timeline gives four dates spanning 116 years focusing on its development from a survey line to a road that continues to serve the community.
Meanwhile Fraser Highway has a span of 91 years giving four names that were used for the section that passes nearby.
At the bottom is a summary description describing the importance of the roads to the earliest settlers.
Also close by in the mosaic is another title that shows the original street names prior to 1957 and the corresponding numbers after 1957 when Surrey changed to numbered street system.
