PONTOTOC COUNTY
MEMORIAL MONUMENT
Dedicated to the honor and memory of the men and women of Pontotoc County who served in the Armed Forces of the United States in World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Honoring All Who Served

In Memory of those who made the Supreme Sacrifice in the service of their country

"Greater Love Hath No Man Than This, That A Man Lay Down His Life For His Friend."   John 15:13

This memorial and the brick display are on the SW corner of a city park, we in the Midwest would call a Town Square.
Here, it is Confederate Park. This is where the original county courthouse stood, and when removed the area was converted into a park.
This memorial is also listed in the Nomination Form for the historic district as a Non-Contributing Object.

Description of Memorial:
Wall Memorial, two inset panels with the names of the two world wars, Korea and Vietnam KIA's and three columns, one on each end and a central column. The central column carries the dedication sentiment, with the left outside column being black at this time. The outside right column is newly etched with the names of the Gulf War
