Glen Forrest was originally called Amherst , then Smiths Mill ( after the local swamill) but, in 1903 it was changed to the present name after W.A's first Premier John Forrest.The LPO is located in a small shopping centre across the road from the old railway station. There is a full selection of services including passport and identity photos during the hours of 0830 to 1730 weekdays and 0830 to 1100 Saturdays.
