Marker affixed to a boulder located in Gansevoort Park next to Fort Stanwix in downtown Rome, NY.
The marker was placed in 1928, long after the original Fort Stanwix had been razed, and decades before the reconstruction of the present day National Monument.
The marker is located at the corner of North James and East Park Streets in downtown Rome, close the the statue of Gen Gansevoort.
Marker text reads:

The British dug
their zigzag trenches or
approaches, directed against
the northwest bastion across
the site of this park.
