The Fred and Phyllis Colburn dedicated bench in near the Veteran section about half way into the cemetery.

Fred and Phyllis Colburn were married for 67 years. Fred was born in 1911 and passed away on April 1, 2009 at the age of 98. Phillis was born in 1920 and passed away in 2014 at the age of 94.

Canyon View Cemetery is within the Okanagan-Similkameen Regional District and was dedicated in 1968. There are approximately 18,000 interments.

There is an impressive Veteran section; each gravesite has a cross with the traditions Canadian poppy. We estimate there are over 300 veterans interred here. The poppy was inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields" written by John McCrae in May 1915.
