Canyon View Cemetery is within the Okanagan-Similkameen Regional District and was dedicated in 1968.
Though Find A Grave lists only 111 interments, we intended to photograph the entire cemetery. We soon realized we lacked the time to do so. We estimate there are over 1,800 gravesites. The cemetery consists of mostly flat ground level markers.
There is an impressive Veteran section that each gravesite has a cross with the traditions Canadian poppy. We estimate there are over 300 veterans interred here. The poppy was inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields" written by John McCrae in May 1915.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
