Harold Simpson dedicated bench in front of the Summerland Arena that offer a full schedule of activities.
Harold Simpson Memorial Youth Centre was named in his honor. He worked tirelessly on many community projects and was very active promoting activities for the youth in the area.
Summerland Arena is also home to the Curling Club. Located on a 5.3 acre property the Summerland Arena boasts a 200 x 85 foot ice sheet, 4 dressing rooms, a fully integrated sound system, a new score clock, seating for 875 spectators and a fully equipped concession.
The curling rink has 4 ice sheets, each one 146 ft. long and 14 ft. wide, complete with hacks and raised platforms at each end. The concrete surface below the ice sheet is also suitable for summer programs.
Located on the second level is the Banquet Room and Kitchen. This 3640 sq. ft. room has the capacity to host 250 people; the room is served by a complete commercial kitchen and bar facilities.
