Unfortunately, there is no web site dedicated to this rural fire department, though the fact that this station is number 31 indicates that it must be pretty large. The topographic maps call this station 1, but the sign clearly declares it as station 31.

A web search turns up several hits for Avilla Fire Department, but they are the generic "yellow pages" kind of sites that just list minimal information, such as the mailing address. The department does have a Facebook page (link below), which gives the following information (corrected for punctuation and spelling):

The Avilla Fire Department covers two cities: Avilla and La Russell; and about 132 square miles in Jasper and Lawrence Counties.
We mutual aid 7 surrounding fire departments, and others when needed. We work closely with Sarcoxie, Carthage, and Jasper fire departments. We receive and give help to these Departments.

The mailing address for the AFD (and several other businesses in Avilla) is out of the larger town of Reeds to the south, even though each has its own post office and zip code.
